Port to receive dredge spoils in December-workshop on updating disposal sale and operations scheduled December 13

The Port Commission will be holding a workshop to discuss the Port’s process of surplussing and sale of the dredge spoils at Austin Point. The Port Commission will take into serious consideration conditions for operation by any purchaser that are more consideration of the concerns of the residents of the Woodland Bottoms especially those along Dike Road. These conditions were well documented by the residents as well as Cowlitz County Public Works and Cowlitz Diking district. The Port will work with West Coast Training on the preparation of a management agreement to ensure minimal disturbance to our neighbors and manage the operating conditions. The Commission will also determine the schedule for surplussing the sand and a minimal rate per cubic yard.
