WOODLAND, Wash.: The Port of Woodland is giving notice that the Port's regularly-scheduled August 19, 2010 public meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be held at the Cowlitz-Skamania Fire District No. 7 Station 1. The station is located at 11670 Lewis River Road, Ariel, Wash. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m.

PORT OF WOODLAND BEACH PASSES NOW AVAILABLE 7 DAYS A WEEK
The Port of Woodland has reached an agreement with Harper’s Tackle & Outdoors to provide a 7-day a week outlet location for the port’s Beach Access Passes.
Visitors on port property at Austin Point and Martin’s Bar/Lions Day Park are required to have Beach Access Passes and until now those passes were only available at the port office during regular business hours. Beach Access Passes are valid for two years, and cost $5 each.
Harper’s Tackle & Outdoor is located at 660 Goerig Street, Suite 8 in Woodland. James & Janet Harper are the owners, and are happy to have the opportunity to sell port passes in their store.
Harper’s Tackle & Outdoor is open 6 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday-Saturday 5-7, and 5 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
Passes are also still available in the port office, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The port office is closed from noon-1 p.m., on those days.

The port office will be closed that day. The port office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010.

Boat Launch Tour
The Commissioners and Executive Director of the Port of Woodland are traveling together on Monday January 25, 2010 to tour boat launch facilities in Cowlitz, Wahkiakum and Clark County. The tour will begin at 10:00AM and will conclude sometime that afternoon. The tour of boat launch facilities is to facilitate the effort of the feasibility of constructing a boat launch at Martins Bar/ Lions Day Park in Woodland.

2010 Budget Adopted
WOODLAND, WA: The Commission of the Port of Woodland has adopted the Port's 2010 budget. The Commission unanimously approved to reduce ad valorem taxes that the Port annually levies by 10%. Therefore reducing the Port's dependence on tax dollars to operate. The Port uses the revenue it collects from tax dollars to pay debt & the Port's operation expenses are paid for with lease revenue.
The Port of Woodland has paid off three debts in 2009 totaling, $167,562.75.
The Port of Woodland Commission is committed to reduce its dependence on tax dollars, communicating to the public that the Port takes its financial responsibility seriously.

WOODLAND, WA: The Port of Woodland received the results of an accountability audit performed by the Washington State Auditor's Office on December 1, 2008. The audit covered accountability for public resources and compliance with state laws and regulations and the Port's own policies and procedures.
The report concluded that the Port complied with all state laws and Port policies and that internal controls were adequate to safeguard public assets. The financial audit covered transactions from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2007.
The Port is audited every three years and has a history of audits without findings.

The Commission along with staff intend at the conclusion of the meeting to recommend that the Port accept one of the proposals if there is a proposal that is deemed satisfactory. Final approval to accept proposal and sand contract will be made at the July 17, 2008 regularly scheduled Commission Meeting.
